Registration starts May 1st at the Collierville Community Center

Grab your jungle hats, we're going on sarfari! Check out all kinds of cool creatures and the places they live. Learn how to draw some of your favorite animals- anyone can be an artist! Try some bold patterns, colors and crazy animal designs.

July camp- July 14 - 18

Caribbean Adventure

9:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon

Fee: $180 ($100 + $80 supply fee)

Registration starts May 1st at the Collierville Community Center

This is where the sun is always shining, the sand is warm and the water is just right....Take a dip and come on in! Have fun using many different art materials to make drawings the easy KidzArt way. Learn how to do 3-D projects and painting too. See you there!

TADA

Dimensional Media • level I

Tada students learn the basics of creating a dimensional piece of art and come to terms with themes such as: mass, volume, balance, structure, viewpoint, etc. During the week, artists will face new challenges creating as many unique pieces of art as one can imagine using just one material (ie: water bottles, shells, or plastic cups). All Tada classes are lead by individuals who are either practicing artists or who are pursuing a career in the arts. (The beginner or intermediate series qualify as a pre-requisite for the advanced series at the end of the summer.)

Date: June 9th-13th

Time: 9:00-10:30 • ages 3-5, Min/Max: 5/8

1:00-2:30 • ages 6-12, Min/Max: 5/12

Dimensional Media • level II

Tada's Intermediate series is all about collage and we aren’t talking about scrap booking! Think

Picasso; think Charles Braque; think Duchamp! Students come to terms with themes such as:

composition, value, balance, duality, found objects, identity, etc. The lines between 2D and 3D will slowly blend. All Tada classes are lead by individuals who are either practicing artists or who are pursuing a career in the arts. (The beginner or intermediate series qualify as a pre-requisite for the advanced series at the end of the summer.)

Day: M-F

Date: June 23rd- 27th

Tada's advanced series is all about process! Think Richard Tuttle, Goldsworthy, Jimmie Durham, Joseph Cornell; think Christo! Students come to terms with themes such as: environmental art, found objects, letting go, etc. Imagination and high concept is key. All Tada classes are lead by individuals who are either practicing artists or who are pursuing a career in the arts. This class culminates with an art exhibit and trophy presentation. (The beginner or intermediate series qualify as pre-requisites for the advanced series at the end of the summer.)

Location: Collierville Community Center

Day: M-F

Date: July 7th-11th

Time: 9:00-10:30 • ages 3-5, Min/Max: 5/8

1:00-2:30 • ages 6-12, Min/Max: 5/12

Cost: $110  ($80 + $30 supply fee)

 

Stroller Strides

A new outdoor fitness program for new moms.  Classes offer a stroller workout that combines Power Walking and intervals of body toning using the stroller, the environment and exercise tubing.  It’s a great way to get in shape, meet other new moms and have fun with your baby.  In addition to classes, Stroller Strides also host playgroups, moms’ outings and community service.  Contact Katie Balthrop at 275-5112 or katiebalthrop@strollerstrides.net.  Visit www.strollerstrides.net/memphis for class package descriptions, locations and schedules, and etc.


Baton Instruction with Tennessee Twirlers, Inc

The USTA has recognized individuals and teams from Tennessee Twirlers, Inc. as state, regional and US National Champions.  The 12 week course sessions:  February 5 – April 29, 2008 (No class March 18th).

Tuesday’s for Beginners 6:00-6:45 p.m. and  Experienced Twirlers from 7:00-7:45 p.m.   Fee: $95 plus  $23.95 for a baton. West Tennessee Coordinator, Jan Miller at 388-5878.   www.tntwirlers.com

Class cost is $56.00 for this session. 

Register at the Collierville Community Center (853-3225) before class start date.

Community Center Administration Office hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Held at the Collierville Community Center

Day/Time:  Monday’s (45 minute classes)

Ages 4 – 6 yrs  Level 1   6:00-6:45 p.m.

Ages 7 – 9 yrs  Level 2  7:00 – 7:45 p.m.

Ages 10 – 15 yrs  Level 3  7:45 – 8:30 p.m.

Pitner Driving School

Teen driving course held at the Collierville Community Center.  Course consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of driving instruction (one on one). Session dates:  July 28 - August 8, 2008 (M-F from 9:00 am to 12:00 p.m).  Driving instruction begins after the completion of classroom instruction)  Fee: $390
Registration Begins May 1st, 2008 at Collierville Community Center.

America Red Cross Babysitting Course

This course will teach teens 11-15 years olds the responsibilities and qualities of being a good babysitter and what to expect from the parent who hires you.
Onc Day Class on May 28, 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Must Register by May 21st
