The Collierville Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Arts Department believes that a park system should create a feeling of pride, a sense of value, a picture of beauty, a sense of belonging, and the challenge of developing skills and abilities while providing the opportunity to grow.  To accomplish this goal, the Department delivers to the Citizens of Collierville a variety of well organized, supervised, and maintained recreation programs, opportunities, and facilities for leisure enjoyment.

This past year will be labeled a year of growth and preparation for the future as our department completed a Conceptual Master Plan for Hinton Property, administered a significant renovation project for the Harrell Theatre, constructed two new tennis courts at Estanaula Park, expanded our medians beautification program, and installed a new state of the art athletic lighting system at WC Johnson Softball Complex. 

Emphasis within the immediate future will focus on the Phased development of Hinton Park in South Collierville, continued expansion of the Collierville Greenbelt System, a renovation of the Collierville Community Center, and the expansion of community athletic practice facilities. 

The Collierville Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Arts Department is extremely proud of our accomplishments this past year and anticipate with eagerness the challenges that await us in providing the recreational opportunities that best serve the Citizens of Collierville.

The Recreation & Sports Division is responsible for the planning, organizing, administering, and supervision of Recreational Programs, and Athletic Programs for the Town of Collierville.  This division is also responsible for the operations of the Collierville Community Center.  With over 100,000 participants in the Town’s Park System each year, the Collierville Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department continues to be a leader in offering its citizens a wide variety of recreational leisure time activities.

During productions, the box office opens 1 hour before the production start time.

The Cultural Arts Division along with the Collierville Arts Council and the Harrell Performing Arts Theatre seek to advance and strengthen community bonds by developing interest in the Arts.  It is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence by producing theatre, music, and dance performances that continue to be an expression of the community’s talents, values, needs, resources, and aspirations.  In 2006, the Harrell Theatre received a record 12 nominations for the Ostranders Awards which recognize excellence in performing arts in the Mid-South.  Also, HPAT set a season attendance record by completely selling out 13 shows for High School Musical.
